STREETLY MENS VETERAN'S

Streetly has had another great season during 2011 at all levels of veterans’ competition.

Streetly have reaced the National finals of the O65 Mens Club championships in their first year of entering a team in this age group. The team of Andrew Eley, Geoff Cliff, Derek Bradshaw, Jim Goodman and Ken Buswell beat Hallamshire (Sheffield) 3-2 in a close fought semi final after earlier victories over Roundwood (Essex) and Manchester Northern

The O60 team play West Bridgford (Nottingham) in their semi final in early November seeking to reach their 6th consecutive final and win their 5th National Championship.

The National Veterans finals will be played at the David Lloyd club at Dudley over the weekend of the 19th/20 November.

Derek Bradshaw, Will Rogers, Mick Webb and Geoff Cliff, together with London based former World Veterans Doubles champion Keith Bland will also form the Warwickshire over 60 County team, who will be attempting to win the UK County championship when they play Essex in November. The team have defeated Nottinghamshire, Avon, West of Scotland, Hertfordshire and Cheshire to reach the final.

In the recent Warwickshire Men’s Veteran’s Doubles final Geoff Cliff and Will Rogers beat Chris Barker and Tony Ainsworth from Solihull Arden 7-5, 6-3 to regain the title 

Streetly has now one of the strongest veterans set up’s in the country and are looking to continue their success at all levels.
